Flowers From the Garden Provide Wonderful Inspiration!

I'm thrilled to have flowers from my garden to provide close-up, personal inspiration pieces for my sugar flowers. Working on wild roses and daisies. Too bad daisies are not yet blooming. See how wonderfully this picture from my sugar flower book resembles the original from my garden? Wow!

Pink and Green Bridal Shower Cake

This sweet bridal shower cake is covered in pink fondant with green ribbons and bows at each base and topped with pink sugar roses and green butterflies.

How Perfect for a Garden Wedding!

This "vase of flowers" cake makes a perfect addition to a garden wedding. The "vase" can be more defined depending on the number of servings required. The cake is then covered in fondant and edible glitter flakes which sparkle in the light. The bow and ribbon are made of gum paste which was dusted with pink luster dust that sparkles. The sugar flowers are all painstakingly hand made to resemble the original and are in shades of pink and white. Chartreuse sugar sweet peas add a pop of color.

Basket of Roses Cake

This "basket of yellow roses" cake looks like we just picked flowers in the garden, but it is completely edible. The basket is constructed with two stacked seven-layer vanilla cakes and then topped with yellow sugar roses. The sugar florist card has the sweet birthday wishes.

Graduation Cake

This Seton Hall graduate will celebrate with a crisp blue and white cake topped with a cake "cap" and sugar tassel, sugar diploma and sugar parchment paper with an inspirational phrase. Everything is edible. Congratulations on your accomplishment!

Communion Cake All Tied Up in a Bow

This blue communion cake is strikenly set off by the white accents -- topped with a bow and rosary beads cascading over the top edge. Four pearl rimmed crosses circle the cake with Brandon's initials on each cross. Sugar calla lilies finish off the base.

Red Rose Buds

What a beautiful addition these will be to the wedding cake! These flowers (and many, many more like it) are being shipped from New Jersey to California.

Peace Sign Cake

We carved this custom cake into a peace sign and then covered it in black zebra stripes. The cake is accented with myriad neon colors and the letters sparkle with edible glitter. The birthday girl chose our white velvet cake with vanilla buttercream. Sweet Grace, Cake Designs

Making Yellow Roses

I'm making lots and lots of yellow roses today for a basket of roses cake. I'm also making white calla lilies and green cymbidium orchids. What a fun day!

Sister Collaboration - How Sweet It Is!

My sister Renee and I collaborated on this cake. She did the cake and vines and I did the sugar flowers. I think it came out beautifully!
